About

Gadget Badger was born from a love/hate of desktop and web widgets and gadgets. The popularity of ‘gadgets’ and ‘widgets’ as seen some great tools being developed, but also many poor and ill-considered ones, making it difficult to find the gems. I therefore launched this website to make my own gadgets available, and blog about the best and worst.

For the uninitiated, iGoogle is a great place to start using these tools. It extends your Google homepage, making it a great dashboard for all things webby. If you become hooked, then try Google Desktop too. I should note here that I have no affiliation to Google - it’s just my poison of choice.

A little about me: I’ll be honest, this is also a bit of an experiment for me, into the world of blogging and to get my programming feet wet again. I tend to do a jumble of all sorts in my job, but consider my profession to be web product design - an ‘interaction designer’. Hence I have an obsession with usability. I see great potential in gadgets and widgets, but have seen many ugly, crappy, unusable ones. So I decided to manager my anger productively. Gadget Badger aims to provide high quality iGoogle gadgets and web widgets that people will find enjoyable, usable and useful. Take a look around, I hope you like what you see.
